The Vineyard - Rooted in Livermore Since 1999
McGrail’s 16-acre estate vineyard sits atop Greenville Road, where morning fog and afternoon Pacific breezes create the ideal conditions for growing world-class Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard is planted north to south to capture optimal sun exposure and the valley’s characteristic east-west winds.
The Livermore Valley’s gravelly, sandy loam soils – known for reducing vine vigor and concentrating flavor in the grapes – have been the foundation of exceptional winemaking here since the 1880s. McGrail farms sustainably, using cover crops for erosion control, drip irrigation for water efficiency, and owl boxes to support natural pest management.
Every vintage is guided by winemaker Mark Clarin, who has been crafting wine in the Livermore Valley for over 40 years and has had a hand in McGrail’s wines since the very beginning.

Do I need a reservation?
Walk-ins are welcome, but reservations are strongly recommended – especially on weekends. Seated tastings on the Panoramic Patio book up quickly, so reserve in advance to guarantee your spot.
Can I bring outside food?
Yes! Outside food is always welcome. We love a good picnic on the front lawn. Please note that no outside alcohol is permitted and no on-site cooking.
Are children allowed?
Children are welcome on our front lawn area and must be supervised at all times. Seated patio tastings are 21+ only.
Are pets allowed?
No pets are allowed on the property. Documented service animals only.
Do you offer wine shipping?

What are your tasting prices?
