Charming Fig Cheeseboard Making Class at McGrail

Join Charming Fig’s founder, Julia Steinman, for a hands on class to learn how to make a beautiful cheese board while tasting some delicious McGrail wines. Finish the class with a gourmet cheese box that you get to take home and enjoy! Wine tasting of 3 wines is included, additional bottles are available for purchase.

Ask a SOMM? Have you been wondering just what you are smelling in that glass? Or if you are allowed to add ice cubes to your white wine? Well join McGrail Vineyards and Guest Sommelier, Wine Fashionista, Mary Orlin, for an educational and fun evening with lots of Q & A! Sip on whatever you have open, or enjoy our 2020 Kylie Ryan Rose and 2017 James Vincent Cabernet Sauvignon as we discuss the wines from the perspective of a professional. SIP Happy Hour is open to all, but if you are interested in receiving 2 Surprise bottles of McGrail wine for only $50 each week, you can join the SIP Subscription and enjoy Zoom Happy Hours every other week.

Reservations for the front lawn are required and our “Pods” are available for up to 6 people. Please bring lawn chairs and blankets to make yourself comfortable.

Mother’s Day at McGrail
Sunday, May 9th
What does your mom want on her special day of celebration? To spend time with loved ones while sipping on wine, enjoying lunch, and listening to live acoustic music! This year’s Mother’s Day Celebration is a little different from years past, but we will be open for limited reservations from 1-4PM. We are only open to Wine Club Members as we need to keep this event limited. Pack a picnic, buy a bottle of wine, and enjoy live music and breathtaking views.
Ticket options include:
- Reserve table seating on our patio and enjoy the beautiful views of Mount Diablo. All tables seat up to 6 people and the patio is reserved for guests 21 and over.
- Reserve a family friendly pod space on our front lawn area and enjoy live music. Each lawn pod is limited to 10 guests (and children are included in this count).
- And the last option is to have a picnic table on the front lawn for up to 6 guests under our arbor.
$300/table or pod and that includes one bottle of sparkling wine to toast your Mom on this special day. Additional wine is available for purchase.
Picnics are welcome, but outside beverages are not allowed. All coolers are subject to be searched. Please note that shade is not provided for the front lawn picnic pods, but you are welcome to bring your own pop up tent for the perimeter of the property. Please, no dogs and no hard balls. Children must remain with their parents at all times.
All guests must have pre-purchased tickets this year. We will be closed to the public. No exceptions.
Mother’s Day Picnic FAQs
Q: What can I bring into the event?
A: Food, shade, water, stationary games for the kids. Please do not bring hard balls, dogs, or alcohol.
Q: What time do the gates open?
A: The gates open at 12:45pm and the pods will be designated on the front lawn area. You will not be allowed to set up blankets, chairs, tents, etc. until after 12:45pm on Sunday, May 9th. We will close promptly at 4pm.
Q: Will the tasting room be open?
A: No, we are not doing any tasting on Mother’s Day. We will have wine available by the glass and bottle.
Q: Do I have to have a ticket to come to the winery?
A: Yes, the tasting room and winery space is closed to the public. Only ticket holders will be allowed on-site.
