The 2022 Charlie Rae Chardonnay is a California style, Chardonnay from the Lucky 8 Vineyard in the Livermore Valley.  It offers a fragrant bouquet of ripe red delicious apples, pears, and lemon peel, accompanied by hints of papaya, melon, and sweet peas, with subtle notes of caramel, butter brickle, and butterscotch.  On the palate, this Chardonnay delivers a sweet and fruity profile with prominent apple and pear flavors, accentuated by a touch of cinnamon, butter, and caramel, reminiscent of homemade apple pie. Papaya and cream add depth to the wine, creating a well-balanced taste experience with refreshing acidity.  It pairs beautifully with brie cheese, artichoke spinach tart with potatoes and cheese.
