Vineyard Notes:The 2018 growing season was one of those “perfect” growing seasons with moderate temperatures in Spring and Summer, allowing for the wine to mature slowly and develop beautifully concentrated fruit flavors.  

Winemaking Style:Our 2018 Patriot Cabernet Sauvignon is from our Estate Vineyard and handpicked in the early morning hours.  We age this specific wine in 100% new American oak from Missouri.  The Patriot was bottled April 17, 2021, and bottle-aged for an additional five months.  

The Wine:Deep, dark garnet in color, this wine bursts with aromas of black cherry, cassis, toasty vanilla, anise, and cocoa.  Allow the wine to open and it will become even more complex with aromatics of dark fruit, caramel, and hints of earthy notes.   The rich texture, chewy tannins, and bold toasty notes will allow this full-bodied Cabernet to lay down for a few years or pair with a rich buttery steak now.

The Cause:The Patriot wine is a tribute to the officers who protect us both locally and globally.  We want to honor the men and women who put their lives on the line for us day in and day out.  Each year we donate a portion of the funds raised through Patriot Cab sales to a different branch of the Fallen Heroes Fund, benefitting the families of police, fire, and military who have been killed in the line of duty.
